About Lauren
Hi, I’m Lauren, a registered dietitian with over 10 years of experience working in a variety of nutrition roles. I have served as part of the management team for a statewide nutrition education program, supporting evidence-based nutrition initiatives. Previously, I worked in large-scale university food service at Penn State University and in skilled nursing and rehabilitation settings, which helped build my background in both population-level and clinical nutrition. I’ve worked with a wide range of ages and health conditions. I’ve helped young adults manage food allergies and dietary restrictions while navigating college dining, and I’ve supported adults in rehabilitation settings who are dealing with complex medical conditions and multiple health concerns. All of these experiences have shaped my client-centered approach.
Approach to care
My approach always starts with you! I believe the most effective and sustainable changes happen when care is personalized, not based on a one-size-fits-all plan. Every client brings their own experiences, goals, and challenges, and those are what guide our work together. Instead of focusing on rigid rules or perfection, I emphasize progress, flexibility, and building long-term habits that feel realistic. Nutrition education is tailored to your needs and readiness for change, so recommendations feel supportive, practical, and achievable. I also understand that nutrition is influenced by emotional, social, and environmental factors, and I strive to create a compassionate, judgment-free space where you feel comfortable and supported. My goal is to help you feel confident, informed, and empowered when it comes to fueling your body!
Your first session with Lauren
Your first nutrition counseling session is all about you! We’ll meet in a relaxed, judgment-free space where you can join from home, work, or anywhere comfortable. We’ll talk through your goals, concerns, and what brought you to counseling, as well as review your health history, daily routine, and any medical or dietary factors. You’ll receive practical, personalized guidance — not strict rules or meal plans — and we’ll work together to identify small, realistic steps that fit your life. My goal is to meet you where you are, provide support, and help you build sustainable habits. By the end of the session, you’ll feel heard, confident, and ready to take the next steps toward your goals.
