About Leah

Hello! I am a registered dietitian and nutrition therapist with over 20 years of experience working with individuals and families. I hold a master's degree in human nutrition and continue to expand my knowledge in the field of nutritional sciences, as well as new approaches to disease prevention and treatment. I have worked as a clinical dietitian in acute care hospitals, outpatient clinics, residential treatment centers, and partial hospitalization for eating disorders, trauma, and addiction. I'm especially interested in our growing understanding of the enteric nervous system (the gut) and how this impacts our food choices, metabolism, mood, immune response, as well as other aspects of our wellbeing. I offer clients individualized care, taking into consideration their unique biology, physiology, lifestyle, socioeconomic position, and their heath goals. I work with a HAES approach and offer non-diet, intuitive eating support to help people find freedom with food and their bodies.

Approach to care

My approach to care is client-centered and trauma-informed. I will offer nutrition counseling, help with meal planning, creating recipes, and any other education that you may need. I will ask a lot of questions and want to know everything you're willing to share. If you are interested in delving deeper into what drives your eating patterns, I'm here for you! Together we'll discover the reason(s) behind your food choices, and I'll gently assist you in shifting your behavior for improved health.

Your first session with Leah

During our first session, I'll gather pertinent information on your physical and biological system, your medical history, your relationship to food and movement, and your specific goals. From there, we'll decide on a treatment plan that fits your lifestyle and needs. You will come away with a few initial actionable steps to bring you closer to your healthiest self.
