About Leah
Hi y'all! I'm Leah and I bleed the orange and white of my University of Tennessee alma mater, while living in the land of the Clemson's orange and purple. Life has taken me from one end of this country and back again, but my love for nutrition has never changed even when my job title did! I love working with clients to achieve a healthy relationship with food and nutrition and reach goals focused on health and wellbeing. I can't wait to work together.
Approach to care
The old saying goes, "If you give a man a fish you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime." I'm a firm believer in learning how to eat for individual health. This why I don't provide meal plans, but instead approach each client with one goal - to eat as liberal a diet as possible. I don't believe that dietary restrictions should be routine, but instead ONLY utilized when a person shows a clear intolerance or allergy to a food. Nutrition research has consistently shown that those who eat a wide variety of foods experience the best health. Eating is a good and necessary part of life and if it is causing you stress you deserve better and I am here to help.
Your first session with Leah
I like to learn all about my clients! I ask lots of questions and love it when my clients come to session feeling talkative. The more you can share about the issue the brings you to our appointment the better I am able to help. By the end of the session, we will come up with a tentative treatment plan that will typically include 10-12 sessions at either a weekly or biweekly pace. We do have flexibility with the scheduling, but I always let my patients know that I'm in the business of finding long term solutions so our work together may take much longer and that is just fine with me!
