About Leslie
Hi all! I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), specializing in celiac disease and cancer/oncology care. I graduated from D'Youville University with a Bachelor's and Master's of Science in Dietetics in 2020. I started out as a baby dietitian during peak 2020 COVID times, providing a wide range of care down in Texas. I started out in level-1 trauma center ICUs, branching out to oncology medical floors, then working in head and neck cancer clinics. Since leaving my full-time position in 2023, I have spent the last 2 years as a traveling to hospitals around the country. While traveling, I met my incredible partner who lives with celiac disease. While initially not my specialty, celiac disease has become a major fixture in my life as an extension of my partner's. I have had the opportunity to learn through personal experience over the last year and a half. As you know, most of our lives revolve around food - socially, functionally, culturally.
Approach to care
My approach is always patient-centered at the end of the day. I care about making sure you feel comfortable making your needs known. I find that a productive relationship is easily built once that comfortable baseline is established; change comes from a place of safety. I strive to be evidence-based with some anecdotal experience mixed in. I hope to learn from you as much as you learn from me! I want to strongly emphasize that all are welcome here. I want to provide a space for you to feel heard, respected, and valued. My space is always LGBTQIA+ friendly - specifically trans-inclusive, neurodiverse, and culturally sensitive.
Your first session with Leslie
Expect a conversation where I take your lead! I am happy to spend this time getting to know you, your relationship to food (and dietitians!), and what's going on in your life. If you are comfortable, we will spend some time deep diving into your day-to-day, your goals, what has worked or not worked for you in the past, etc. so we can set up a game plan for session 2! Overall, I want to help you manage obstacles that arise in your life so you can maintain your quality of life, while caring for your body and needs.
