About Leslie
Hi! I’m Leslie, a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) who’s passionate about making nutrition simple, approachable, and impactful. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 3, I have a lifelong connection to nutrition and a deep understanding of how food and health intersect. I believe food can truly change how you feel, and I’m here to help you feel confident, nourished, and supported as you work toward your goals. Through my work in community health, diabetes education, and food access, I’ve seen how personalized, one-on-one nutrition support can make a real difference. Whether you’re managing diabetes, navigating PCOS, or simply wanting to feel better in your body, we’ll work together to build sustainable strategies that fit your life and preferences. When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me running, reading, or hanging out with my dog Lentil (yes, like the high-fiber legume!).
Approach to care
My approach to care is practical, collaborative, and focused on sustainability. I believe lasting change comes from understanding why we’re making certain nutrition choices, not just being told what to do. We focus on building habits that fit your life, one step at a time, rather than making too many changes at once. Education and clarity are central to my approach so you feel informed, confident, and empowered to make decisions on your own. The goal is progress you can maintain long term, not quick fixes or perfection.
Your first session with Leslie
Your first session is focused on getting to know you. We’ll talk through your goals, food preferences, daily routine, lifestyle, and medical history so I can understand the full picture of what’s going on and what matters most to you. There’s no judgment and no pressure to have everything figured out. By the end of the session, you’ll always leave with 1–3 practical, realistic takeaways or goals to work on between visits. These steps are designed to feel manageable and supportive, not overwhelming, and we’ll build on them over time as we continue working together.
