About Lina
I'm a Registered Dietitian with over 7 years of experience supporting individuals with complex medical conditions, including end stage kidney disease, heart health concerns, and chronic illness. My background spans dialysis, acute and critical care, oncology, long-term care, and outpatient counseling, which allows me to look at health through a comprehensive and realistic lens. I believe nutrition should support your life - not control it. My goal is to help you feel informed, confident, and empowered in your choices, without overwhelm or fear around food. I work with adults seeking practical, evidence-based guidance that fits into real life, and I enjoy building long-term relationships with my clients based on trust, collaboration, and compassion. Additionally, I offer counseling in both English and Spanish and enjoy working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Approach to care
My approach is evidence-based, patient-centered, and grounded in sustainability. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all nutrition or overly restrictive plans that are impossible to maintain. Instead, I focus on: 1) understanding your medical history, lifestyle, culture, and preferences, 2) translating complex nutrition recommendations into clear, actionable steps, 3) supporting behavior change that feels realistic and respectful. I aim to meet you where you are, reduce food anxiety, and help you build habits that support both your health and quality of life.
Your first session with Lina
In our first session, we'll take time to get to know each other. I'll ask about your health history, labs (if applicable), current eating patterns, goals, and any challenges you've been facing. Together, we'll: identify priorities that matter most to you, clarify confusing or conflicting nutrition advice, and create an initial plan that feels manageable and personalized. You can expect a supportive, judgement-free space where questions are encouraged and progress is measured realistically - not perfectly.
