About Lindsay

I have been a registered dietitian for the last 10 years. My background is primarily in eating disorders and disordered eating and I have worked in eating disorders in the inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care. I also love working with people with chronic disease and health conditions that can be improved through diet. I love problem solving and working together with my clients/patients to help find manageable/realistic solutions to offer relief and make their lives easier. Being able to play a key in making someone feel less overwhelmed by their diagnosis is something that is very motivating to me.

Approach to care

I practice with an intuitive eating and weight-neutral (HAES) approach. I don't believe that there is good food and bad food because all food provides energy and nourishes the body in some way. Based on someone's personal situation, there are some foods that it may be beneficial to have more or less of but I never want you to ban any food completely (with the exception of allergies of course). I want to get to know you and figure out a plan and solutions that make sense for you, not give you a list of do's and dont's or foods that you are "not allowed" to eat. I practice with open, non-judgemental, and big-picture thinking. It is important for me to provide gender-affirming care. My role is to be your support person and ally and not the intimidating dietitian that you have to check in with and feel nervous if you have not completed goals that we set or met your own expectations.

Your first session with Lindsay

During our first session, I will start by finding out what led you to meeting with a dietitian, finding out what your long-term and short-term goals are for what you want to get out of our sessions. I will ask some about your background, history, usual eating pattern, likes and dislikes, barriers to certain interventions, priorities, and what your day-to-day life looks like.
