About Lindsey
I have been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) since 2012 and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) since 2022. Over the past 10+ years, my experience includes diabetes management, weight inclusive counseling, diet management of renal disease and heart disease, oncology care, and GI issues. I became a dietitian for many reasons, but the main reasons being that I wanted to help others and for my love of food. I make daily efforts to practice what I teach and lead a healthy lifestyle while enjoying the occasional cookie or cupcake, and wish dinner could be a glass of wine and a charcuterie board most nights.
Approach to care
My approach to care is always person centered. We will focus on your wants, needs, and goals, then establish a plan to help you reach those goals. I will provide information specific to you and your needs to allow you determine the specific aspects of your diet and lifestyle to focus on to promote overall health. Although weight tends to be a common focus when working to achieve better health, I will provide weight inclusive and weight neutral counseling to measure progress by "non-scale victories" and address indicators of health that do not solely consist of the number on the scale.
Your first session with Lindsey
Your first session will consist of reviewing your health history (ie diagnoses, medications, primary health concerns), discussing current eating and lifestyle habits, reviewing level of activity, and determining your short and long tern goals. We will dive into your previous experiences with managing your health and discuss successes and challenges you may have previously experienced contributing to where you are today. We will work together to set SMART goals and create a plan you feel comfortable with moving forward. You are not alone in this process, and it would be a privilege for me to be a part of your health journey!
