About Lorena
Lorena obtained her master’s degree in Nutritional Science from San José State University. She became interested in the field of nutrition after witnessing how diabetes affected her father and grandparents and wanting to understand how nutrition could support their health. Lorena completed her dietetic internship with Kaiser Permanente and the County of Santa Clara, gaining experience with a wide range of medical conditions. She loves helping others feel empowered to take control of their health and enjoys teaching and making nutrition understandable. Her practice is rooted in evidence-based therapy and intuitive eating, with a focus on making nutrition feasible and sustainable for every individual.
Approach to care
My approach is centered on meeting you where you are. I aim to provide empathetic, supportive care and take time to understand your unique lifestyle, preferences, and challenges. Together, we’ll work toward realistic, achievable changes that build confidence and long-term success, without it being overwhelming.
Your first session with Lorena
In our first session, I want to really get to know you. We’ll talk about your daily routine, activity level, eating patterns, relationship with food, and the goals you hope to achieve. I’ll explore what’s been helpful or challenging for you in the past and begin identifying how I can best support you. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, understood, and confident in our plan moving forward.
