About Lori
I am a professional with over 35 years of experience in my chosen field of nutrition which I continue to love. I have counseled thousands of individuals in a variety of settings. I value compassion as helping people with food and nutrition can involve personal histories that may evoke many emotions. I want for patients to feel seen and understood so that I can be an ambassador for them in helping to improve their health and achieve their desired outcomes. Although someone does not have to have a health issue to be helpful, I have experienced disordered eating, weight gain and menopause among other common issues which I have found helpful for empathizing with people's challenges. What we choose to eat, how we enjoy food and our interest in health changes over time. I honor the dynamic relationship we all have with food while also championing that nutrition can help you feel better in the short run and promote quality longevity over time.
Approach to care
I believe in helping individuals foster a healthy relationship with food which can be defined in many different ways. As we know, not all relationships are alike - some are more functional and others are more pleasure seeking. Achieving a healthy relationship with food can serve as a foundation for accomplishing other things such as preventing or helping to control disease processes. Ultimately, the best gift we give ourselves and others is maintaining our health and independence and I would like to help individuals achieve that.
