About Luke

I was born and raised in rural South Carolina where I hunted, fished, and grew an appreciation for food, films, and traveling. In the early 2000s, I moved to Montana where I attended college and worked for 12 years, including a year and a half where I lived and studied in Northern Ireland. My wife and I met in college and joined the U.S. Peace Corps where we served in The Gambia, West Africa from 2009 to 2011. In 2014, I returned to school to become a dietitian. My dietetic internship was completed in Denver, Colorado in 2018 where my wife and I have lived since. We have a beautiful daughter who will turn 2 years old in December of 2025. As a family, we enjoy the outdoors, the food scene, baseball, seeing comedians live, cooking, going to the movies, serving our community, and hanging out at our local reservoir.

Approach to care

Fourteen years ago, a registered dietitian in Helena, Montana changed my life for the better. Instead of prescribing me lifelong medication, she instilled in me a healthier relationship with food by expanding my food selections instead telling me to limit food groups. Over the next year, I learned to cook with more fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, and whole grains, and I watched my health markers and quality of life improve, all of this, without medication. I was inspired by this dietitian to become a dietitian myself, a journey I completed in 2018. My approach to care is all about meeting you where you are and helping you make sustainable changes towards a healthier relationship with food, a relationship where we expand your options as opposed to limiting your options. I want the same success for you that a dietitian afforded me, and I want to do it by listening to you and helping you set and achieve the goals that are important to you.
