About Lydia

I’m a registered dietitian specializing in sports performance and active lifestyles. With a background as a collegiate basketball player and an education in exercise science and human nutrition, I understand firsthand how the right fueling strategies can elevate performance, speed recovery, and support overall well-being. Previously, I worked with Wake Forest University Athletics, where I had the opportunity to support a wide variety of athletes there. Beyond performance, I care deeply about the lifelong health of my clients. Food is something that will always be with you, whether competing as an athlete or not. My goal is to help each individual build sustainable nutrition habits that last. My approach is evidence-based, individualized, and practical. I believe nutrition should empower individuals to feel and perform their best, not add stress to their plate.

Approach to care

My approach to care is centered on making nutrition practical, flexible, and empowering. Every athlete and active individual has unique goals, training demands, and life circumstances, which is why I take the time to understand each client’s background, preferences, and challenges before creating an individualized plan. Instead of one-size-fits-all diets, I focus on evidence-based strategies that are sustainable and realistic. Together, we explore how nutrition can fuel performance, enhance recovery, prevent injury, and support long-term health. My goal is for clients to leave sessions with tools they can confidently use beyond our work together. I also recognize that food is more than fuel—it’s culture, connection, and enjoyment. I create space for flexibility and balance so clients can make progress without unnecessary restriction or guilt. Ultimately, I want nutrition to reduce stress and strengthen overall well-being while helping individuals perform and feel their best.

Your first session with Lydia

Your first session with me is designed to be a welcoming, collaborative conversation. We’ll start by discussing your goals, daily routine, training schedule, current eating habits, and any challenges you’ve been facing. This helps me get a clear picture of where you are now and where you’d like to be. From there, we’ll identify your priorities and begin creating a personalized nutrition plan that feels realistic and sustainable. You’ll walk away with actionable strategies to start implementing right away—no overwhelming rules or strict meal plans, just practical guidance tailored to your needs. The first session is also a chance for you to ask questions, learn more about my approach, and share what kind of support works best for you. My goal is to make sure you leave feeling understood, supported, and confident about the steps we’ll take together toward your performance and health goals.
