About Lynsie

I have been following an active lifestyle from a young age and with my mom's guidance growing up. I began to make the connection between sports performance and nutrition in high school, which is when I decided I wanted to study nutrition in college! I attended Michigan State University (MSU) and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics and a Master's Degree in Human Nutrition. Also, I was on the cross country and track team at MSU, where I began as a walk-on and by the end of my seven years as a student-athlete I was on a full-ride scholarship and earned All-American honors in cross country. However, I did deal with low iron levels and a couple of bone and muscular injuries throughout my time as a student-athlete. With each of these setbacks, I learned how valuable it's to consume enough energy along with the proper macro and micronutrients. Thus, I want to educate all of the individuals I work with on the significance of fueling enough and properly to be at their best.

Approach to care

As a dietitian, one of my main goals is to help all individuals fuel properly to feel and be at their best. Thus, my approach to care is to always take an individual approach and find out the clients goals and what they would like me to help them with as well as providing evidence-based information and advice to the client. In addition, focusing on one to two main goals or topics per session in order to make little changes and progress in nutrition, have time to discuss how the current plan is going, and to not overwhelm any of my clients.

Your first session with Lynsie

In the first session with a client, I like to take a good amount of time to learn about them. I will ask important questions like any medical or dietary conditions, food allergies, food preferences and dislikes, as well as their daily activities and eating schedule. I will make sure the client feels comfortable and can share anything they feel is pertinent in order for me to help them. We will also discuss individual nutrition goals, a plan on how to reach their goals, and what to work on before our next follow-up session.
