About Maddi
Hi! I'm a registered dietitian with a passion for helping children and families build healthy, sustainable relationships with food. I currently work with Nourish and also serve as part of the clinical team at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital, where I specialize in pediatric nutrition. My approach is rooted in evidence-based care, compassion, and collaboration. I work closely with children of all ages—from infancy through adolescence—supporting a wide range of nutritional needs, including growth concerns, feeding difficulties, gastrointestinal issues, and chronic health conditions. I also have a strong background in eating disorders research, which deeply informs my clinical practice. I believe in taking a non-judgmental, weight-inclusive, and developmentally appropriate approach to nutrition, with a focus on early intervention and long-term well-being.
Approach to care
My approach is compassionate, individualized, and family-centered. I believe that every child deserves access to respectful, evidence-based nutrition care that supports their physical, emotional, and developmental well-being. With a background in eating disorders research, I bring a weight-inclusive, non-diet, and trauma-informed perspective to my work. I focus on helping children build a positive relationship with food and their bodies, while guiding families with practical, supportive strategies that align with their values and goals. I work collaboratively with caregivers, medical providers, and therapists to ensure care is holistic and integrated, especially for children navigating complex medical or mental health needs. Whether it's managing a medical condition, supporting healthy growth, or helping a child heal from disordered eating, I strive to meet families where they are—with empathy, expertise, and encouragement.
Your first session with Maddi
Our first session is all about getting to know you and your child in a supportive, low-pressure environment. Whether you’re here for help with growth, feeding concerns, a medical condition, or recovery from disordered eating, we’ll work together to build a clear picture of your child’s unique needs. Here’s what we’ll typically cover: - A comprehensive nutrition assessment, including your child’s medical history, growth patterns, eating behaviors, and daily routines - Your concerns and goals—we want to understand what’s most important to you and your family - Your child’s relationship with food and body, especially if there are signs of disordered eating, food aversions, or anxiety around meals - A collaborative plan tailored to your child’s age, development, and needs—whether that means medical nutrition therapy, gentle nutrition education, feeding strategies, or ongoing support
