About Madison
Hi there! I am Madison Gorton, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist specializing in pediatric nutrition and metabolic health across the lifespan. I support a wide range of metabolic and weight-related health concerns including childhood obesity, insulin resistance, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, GLP-1 medication use, fatty liver disease, high triglycerides, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. I also help families (and adults!) navigate picky eating, food rigidity, reduce mealtime stress, and learn to tune in to their own natural hunger-fullness cues to restore a healthy relationship with food.
Approach to care
I utilize compassionate, evidence-based lifestyle medicine approaches. The emphasis will be on sustainable habits- not restriction or perfection. My approach focuses on realistic changes around nutrition, movement, sleep, and daily routines to support long-term health and vitality. I know that food and habits can be deeply personal and affected by situations that may or may not be within your control. At the heart of my work is creating a non-judgmental space where people of all ages feel supported and empowered to overcome challenges together. In the end, my goal is to help you find a balance between food for health and food for happiness to promote both physical health and quality of life for you and your family.
Your first session with Madison
In your first session, the focus is entirely on you (or your child/adolescent)- your health, your motivations, your lifestyle and your goals. I will listen to what your hopes and motivations are for what you would like to achieve through nutrition visits. I will also use the information that you provide in your initial intake questions to identify areas that we can adjust together to help address your specific health concerns. We will walk through a roadmap of skills that we will build together to get you on track to becoming comfortably independent in navigating nutrition topics. We will set specific, achievable, and realistic goals together for you to work on until your next visit! If and when road blocks pop up, I will be here for you to figure out what we can adjust to make sure we continue to move forward with your goals. When thing are going well, I will celebrate with you and cheer you on! I am so excited to meet you and work with you to better your health!
