About Maija

I’m thrilled to be joining the Nourish team! I’m a registered dietitian living in Richfield, MN and a mom of two. I went back to school for a Masters in Public Health Nutrition. Shortly after graduating, I welcomed my baby girl and have been on maternity leave - a season which reinforced an important lesson for me: feeling well goes beyond food alone. You can be "eating right" and still not feel your best. Enter integrative nutrition. Integrative nutrition has played a meaningful role in helping me feel my best, and I’m excited to bring this whole-person approach into my work.

Approach to care

When you work with me, you can expect a supportive and empowering process. I take an integrative approach to help you reach your health goals and truly feel your best. This includes not only dietary modifications but also lifestyle considerations, with a strong focus on supporting gut health through the microbiome, which plays a vital role in immunity and overall well-being. I want you to feel confident in your food choices, connected to your body and supported as we create realistic and sustainable strategies together.

Your first session with Maija

Think of our first session as a friendly, judgment-free conversation. We’ll talk about your lifestyle, medical and nutrition history, eating and activity patterns, goals, and your relationship with food—not just the numbers, but who you are and what matters most to you. My priority is creating a comfortable space where you can show up exactly as you are, whether you’re feeling motivated, nervous, or unsure where to begin. By the end of our first session, we’ll identify a few small, realistic action steps that feel right for you. These won’t be rigid goals I set for you—they’ll be driven by what you feel ready to work on as we begin this journey together. Follow-up sessions will build on what we start here, offering ongoing support, accountability and adjustments as your needs evolve.
