About Malda
I am a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist with over 20 years of counseling experience and a strong commitment to helping individuals achieve better health through personalized nutrition. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition from Florida International University. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals across the lifespan, including those managing chronic conditions such as heart disease, obesity, chronic kidney disease (CKD), and diabetes. I also have extensive experience supporting prenatal clients, infants, and children with their unique nutritional needs. My goal is to empower you with the tools and guidance needed to improve your health, build sustainable habits, and enhance your overall lifestyle.
Approach to care
My approach to care is rooted in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and evidence-based nutrition. I provide personalized medical nutrition therapy, counseling, and education tailored to each client’s unique health history, lifestyle, and goals. I believe that nutrition is not one-size-fits-all. I work with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, including those managing chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, digestive disorders, and women’s health concerns. I take the time to understand each person’s preferences, challenges, and motivation in order to create realistic, sustainable nutrition plans. Whether you're navigating a new diagnosis or aiming to improve your overall well-being, I strive to create a welcoming space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes at your own pace.
Your first session with Malda
Your first session is centered entirely around you. We’ll spend time getting to know your health history, current lifestyle, eating habits, medical conditions, lab results (if available), and personal goals. This is a space where you’ll be heard—free from judgment and full of support. You can expect a collaborative and compassionate approach. I’ll take time to build a professional and trusting rapport, conduct a thorough nutrition assessment, and provide an individualized nutrition plan tailored to your unique needs. No fad diets or quick fixes—just evidence-based, practical guidance you can build on. Together, we’ll create a clear, sustainable plan that fits your life and helps you feel more confident, energized, and in control of your health.
