About Marcia
Iâve been a Registered Dietitian for 20+ years, working with a variety of health conditions including Heart Health, Diabetes, Kidney Disease, Womenâs Health, Teen Wellness, Cancer, Obesity, Weight Loss, Autism, and Developmental Delays. I am an ally to all walks of life and will support everyoneâs health and lifestyle decisions. I have a Masterâs Degree in Nutrition Education, and recently won the 2025 RI Outstanding Preceptor of the Year Award. I love what I do and I feel that nutrition counseling is where I can have the most impact on my clientsâ lives. I am the mother of 3 boys, and my husband and I live on an 11 acre farm in Rhode Island. I enjoy gardening, reading, and doing puzzles. I have also volunteered with local non-profit organizations here in RI, including our local food pantry. I am personable and friendly and have always found things in common with everyone I meet. Iâm excited to get to know you and see where our time together will take us!
Approach to care
I focus on holistic and person-centered care. My approach to nutrition is based on whole foods with respect for cultural diversity and food access. I also incorporate lifestyle factors such as family dynamics, sleep, stress, exercise, and age stages.
Your first session with Marcia
Our nutritional health journey starts with getting to know how your daily life influences your diet, and what youâd like to get out of our time together. Weâll look at all the areas of your life that have an impact on healthy eating: work-life balance, home life, physical activity, food shopping, cooking, etc. Then, weâll work together to set goals and work towards achieving them. I break down this process into smaller, easier steps, so it feels less daunting and more empowering.
