About Margaret

Hi! I’m Mimi Girten, a registered dietitian with over 30 years of experience helping children, teens, young adults, adults, and their families reach their nutrition goals and feel their best. I support a wide range of needs, including blenderized tube feedings, food allergies, picky eating, texture sensitivities, ADHD, feeding challenges for neurodivergent children and kids with special needs, poor weight gain, celiac disease, and childhood or adolescent obesity. I’m especially passionate about advocating for young adults with complex medical needs who are often overlooked. I also work with clients at every stage of life, supporting life transitions with personalized, practical, and realistic nutrition care. I look forward to supporting you and your family, no matter your age, as you work toward health, growth, and well-being.

Approach to care

My approach is centered on compassion, listening, and meeting families exactly where they are. I work with clients at every stage of life, supporting life transitions with personalized, practical, and realistic nutrition care. Using evidence-based guidance and creative solutions, my goal is to provide a safe, judgment-free space where clients feel supported, confident, and prepared to move forward.

Your first session with Margaret

We’ll take time to get to know each other, and everyone involved in your or your child’s/young adult’s care. I’ll ask about medical history, growth, eating habits, any challenges you’re facing including tube feeding or specialized nutrition needs and your goals. This is a relaxed, open conversation with no right or wrong answers, and you’re welcome to bring any questions or notes you’d like to share. Together, we’ll develop a personalized plan that fits your or your child’s/young adult’s unique needs and your family’s daily life. I’ll explain my recommendations clearly, help set achievable goals, and discuss follow-up visits as needed. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, supported, and equipped with practical next steps to thrive; whether managing tube feedings, navigating complex medical needs, or improving overall nutrition.
