About Margaret
Hi, I’m Margaret, a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with 18 years of experience helping people build healthier relationships with food. I earned my BS in Human Nutrition from California State University, Chico, and I’ve worked across clinical and hospital settings, community health, and outpatient clinics. I value science and compassionate coaching alike, bringing curiosity and practicality to every session. When I’m not helping clients, you’ll find me biking, hiking, cooking, reading, or enjoying time with family and friends. I’m glad you’re here.
Approach to care
My care philosophy blends evidence based practice with genuine warmth. I stay current with research so the guidance I give is practical and effective, but I never forget that your life, values, and goals come first. We’ll move at your pace, focusing on sustainable habits rather than quick fixes, and I support a weight neutral, HAES approach that centers your wellbeing instead of numbers on a chart. You’ll learn, experiment, reflect, and decide what fits you, with clear steps and ongoing encouragement.
Your first session with Margaret
Our first appointment is all about you. Think of it as a warm conversation rather than an exam. We’ll review your medical history, discuss your relationship with food, and identify short term goals. We’ll also look at lab work and biometrics to tailor a plan, but there’s no pressure to have everything figured out yet. We’ll co-create a practical meal plan that fits your preferences and lifestyle, and I’ll support you with education and accountability as we take the next steps together.
