About Margaret
As a Registered Dietitian, I have developed an expertise in pediatric weight management and have developed a passion for helping children, parents, young adults, and entire families find peace with food. During the first 5 years of my career, I gained experience at the number one children's hospital, Cincinnati Children's, in areas ranging from metabolic disease, gastrointestinal diseases, sleep disorders, growth concerns, sensory processing disorders, global delays, and sports nutrition. Since this time, I have continued to provide care to patients at Cincinnati Children's but have also expanded my experience into counseling adults.
Approach to care
I believe in inclusion over exclusion. Focusing first on giving your body what it needs, rather than what to avoid, can completely reform your relationship with food. Every individual lives in a unique body that differs from their peers, friends, and even family members. Every individual’s nutrition plan needs to be just as unique. As we work together, I will always honor that you are the expert on your body (or, for parents, your child), while I serve as the expert on food and nutrition sciences. Together, we can work to find the plan most suitable for you to reach your goals, whether those goals are surrounding growth and development, metabolic health, or disease treatment or prevention.
Your first session with Margaret
During our first session my top priority is to get to know YOU and understand YOUR specific goals. We will spend the majority of our first visit diving into the nitty gritty details about you; your lifestyle, your medical history, and what led you to seek nutrition counseling. This allows the goals we set to be tailored to meet your need and to realistically fit into your everyday life. Because, at the end of the day, our session is 1 hour out of 168 hours of the week. Tailoring goals to match your motivation and capacity each week will help to ensure we see true progress between sessions.
