About Maria
Hi, I'm Maria! I'm a Registered Dietitian with about nine years of experience. I graduated with a BS degree from the Coordinated Dietetics Program at the University of Connecticut. I’ve worked mostly in clinical settings, mainly subacute and long term care, where I learned how nourishing care plans can support recovery, resilience, and day to day function. I practice as an RD/LDN, and I’m grateful to combine science with empathy every day. Outside of work, I love cooking, reading, and soaking up all of the moments as a new mom.
Approach to care
My care philosophy centers on collaboration and education. I believe in a nonjudgmental approach that honors your lived experience while grounding our plan in current research. We’ll work together to understand your relationship with food, and your nutritional goals to create a plan to help you achieve them. I practice with a weight neutral, and a holistic view of health that goes beyond calories alone.
Your first session with Maria
Our first appointment is about you and your story. We’ll review your medical history, discuss your short term goals, and take a deeper look at your relationship with food. We’ll also go over any recent lab work or biometrics to help create our plan. You don’t need to have everything figured out yet; we’ll leave the session with 1 or 2 clear, attainable goals and a sense of the path we’ll take together!
