About Mariana
I’m a bilingual registered dietitian with a Master’s in Clinical Nutrition from New York University (NYU) and over a decade of experience helping people improve their health through food — without the guilt, restriction, or unrealistic rules. I specialize in chronic conditions like diabetes, prediabetes, high cholesterol, PCOS, and weight management. My approach is evidence-based and culturally inclusive, but also practical — rooted in your real life, your routines, and your favorite foods. Whether you’re managing a health condition or simply want to feel better in your body, I’ll help you make nutrition work for you — with clarity, flexibility, and zero judgment.
Approach to care
Working with me should feel like talking to a trusted friend — warm, supportive, and judgment-free. I create a space where you can feel comfortable being honest about what’s working, what’s not, and what feels hard. I’ll help you feel understood, not overwhelmed — and while I’ll always bring gentle guidance, I’ll also help you hold yourself accountable in a way that feels empowering, not punishing. I don’t just give you a list of foods — I teach you how to understand your body and your habits, so you can make confident decisions long after we’re done working together. My goal is to help you feel better in your body, your health, and your everyday life — with a plan that truly works for you.
Your first session with Mariana
Our first session is all about getting to know you — not just your labs or goals, but your routines, your culture, your cravings, your stress, and everything in between. We’ll talk about what’s been feeling hard, what you’ve tried before, and what you actually want your day-to-day to look like when it comes to food and health. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out. This is a safe, judgment-free space where you can be honest and feel supported. My job is to listen, guide, and help you start building something that feels realistic — not perfect. You'll leave with a clear, doable next step and the feeling that you're not doing this alone anymore.

Hobbies
Outside of work, I love slow weekend mornings with strong coffee, flipping through cookbooks I probably won’t follow, and discovering new restaurants — especially anything with tacos, sushi, Mediterranean or Thai food. I enjoy weight lifting, Barry’s Bootcamp classes, long walks by Lake Michigan, and farmers markets around Chicago. I’m a big fan of a good Netflix thriller. I live in Lincoln Park with my husband, our three kids, and our labradoodle, Penny.
