About Mariel
Hi, I’m Mariel - a Registered Dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor based in Upstate New York. I support individuals in building a healthier, more peaceful relationship with food and their bodies through the lens of intuitive eating. My approach is weight-neutral and non-diet, with a focus on sustainable, health-promoting behaviors that prioritize overall well-being—not the number on the scale.
Approach to care
Nutrition can feel confusing, overwhelming, and even exhausting—especially in a culture saturated with mixed messages about health, body image, and eating. I offer a supportive, judgment-free space where you can reconnect with your body’s natural cues and explore what nourishment looks like for you. Together, we’ll work to shift away from diet rules and restriction and toward more realistic, sustainable habits that bring a sense of ease and balance. I help clients let go of food guilt, rebuild trust in their bodies, and embrace a more compassionate, intuitive approach to eating—one that honors both physical health and emotional well-being. Food is meant to nourish and be enjoyed!
Your first session with Mariel
During our first session, we’ll take time to explore your health history, current eating patterns, and your relationship with food and your body. We’ll also discuss what you're hoping to gain from nutrition counseling so we can tailor our work to your individual needs and goals. Follow-up sessions are designed to provide personalized support, practical nutrition guidance, and a safe space to deepen your connection with food and your body. I look forward to working with you! **My standard work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM EST.**
