About Mariel

Ready to finally feel at peace with food and your body? Hi, I’m Mariel - a Registered Dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor based in Upstate New York. I help people break free from the exhausting cycle of dieting/restriction and reconnect with the wisdom of their own bodies. If you’re tired of food guilt, confused by mixed messages about health, or just want to feel better without obsessing over every bite, you’re in the right place.

Approach to care

I take a weight-neutral, non-diet approach that’s rooted in intuitive eating and sustainable, health-promoting habits. That means no more rigid rules, no more "good" or "bad" foods - just real support to help you build a balanced, nourishing relationship with food that works for you. Nutrition isn’t one-size-fits-all. In our work together, we’ll explore what health looks and feels like in your unique body, at your pace. You’ll learn how to tune into your hunger and fullness cues, eat without guilt, and move toward habits that support your physical and emotional well-being - without restriction, shame, or obsession.

Your first session with Mariel

Our first session is a chance to really dig in: we’ll look at your health history, current eating habits, and your relationship with food and body image. We'll discuss what’s working, what’s not, and what you’d like to change so we can create a plan that’s practical, realistic, and tailored to your needs. In follow-up sessions, I provide ongoing support, evidence-based guidance, and actionable strategies to help you build sustainable habits and a healthier relationship with food. I look forward to working with you! **My standard patient-facing work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM EST.**
