About Marietta
As a Registered Dietitian, I'm all about helping people build healthier, happier lives for themselves first and others. I approach each individual with compassion, empathy and a supportive attitude. With a Masters in Nutrition from Purdue University, I've spent 20+ years working as a registered dietitian across clinical hospitals, private practice, and research and academia. As a seasoned RDN, I bring evidence-based knowledge, wisdom, and insight to each visit. My goal is to understand your challenges, preferences, your "why", in order to assist you in creating realistic and sustainable lifestyle changes that fit you and stick! When I step away from the work day, I'm either reworking a recipe, painting, catching a movie or a play or out in nature. That blend of science and curiosity shapes how I meet patients where they are.
Approach to care
I choose to build a workable plan around the whole person using knowledge based science, open dialogue and collaboration with the person. It's paramount to me that the individual feels "heard", supported, understood and safe. I practice from a weight-neutral perspective, so we'll focus on behaviors, wellbeing, and sustainable habits rather than numbers on a scale. I translate evidence-based options into clear, actionable steps, and we’ll set manageable goals together. My style is warm and nonjudgmental, educational and direct, so you leave sessions with knowledge and an action plan to make progress toward your established goals.
Your first session with Marietta
Your first nutrition session is all about you. It's a chance for us to get to know each other and for me to understand where you are in your life, your blocks, your challenges, what's working and what's not and what your dreams are for your health. This will be a relaxed, non-judgemental, conversation...no pressure. An easy, supportive conversation where we'll review your lifestyle, medical history, lab work, and current biometrics to get a good understanding of the "big" picture. We’ll also talk about sleep, stress, movement, and daily routines so goals fit your lifestyle. There is no need to prepare anything for the session. Just come as you are and we’ll take it one step at a time. Feel free to bring a list of your medications and supplements if you have one. Most importantly, this is a space where your voice matters and your health journey is respected. Follow-up sessions will build on what we start here, offering ongoing support accountability and any adjustments needed.
