About Marinella
I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with over 15 years of experience providing medical nutrition therapy across various healthcare settings. I specialize in diabetes management, cardiovascular health, metabolic syndrome, and weight management, using a compassionate and evidence-based approach to help clients build sustainable, healthy habits. With advanced certifications in diabetes education, obesity and weight management, and nutrition support, I focus on culturally sensitive, personalized care that empowers each person to improve their health and well-being. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and creating nutritious recipes that make healthy eating enjoyable and accessible.
Approach to care
My approach to care centers on empowering patients to take an active role in their health. I view nutrition counseling as a collaborative process, acting as a coach who guides, educates, and supports rather than dictates. I create a space where clients feel heard and respected, and I tailor every plan to the individual, considering cultural background, lifestyle, occupation, and personal preferences. I emphasize practical, meaningful strategies and help patients understand the “why” behind recommendations so they can make confident, informed choices. My goal is to build autonomy and support long-term wellness in a way that aligns with each person’s life.
Your first session with Marinella
During our first session, we will review your health history, daily routines, and any medical conditions that may affect your nutrition. We will discuss your personal goals, whether managing a chronic condition, improving energy, or developing healthier habits. I will ask about your food preferences, lifestyle, and any barriers to progress, and review labs or medications if available. Together, we will identify key areas of focus and outline realistic, personalized steps to support your well-being. By the end of the session, you will have a clear plan, understand next steps, and feel empowered to make meaningful, sustainable changes toward your health goals.
