About Marisa
Welcome! I was born and raised in the Seattle area, and relocated to Central Washington for college. I fell in love with the area and decided to make the beautiful Yakima Valley my home after graduation, where I now live with my husband and our 3 cats. I've been working as a Dietitian for 3 years, where I've gained experience working with diabetes, heart disease, weight management, creating a healthier relationship with food and eating habits, and pediatric nutrition. My passion is to help people find freedom and healing with food, and to create eating habits that bring real, lasting health. I also have experience working in the WIC program, where I worked with pregnant women to navigate the nutritional concerns of pregnancy, as well as children up to age 5. I am comfortable and experienced working with people of any age, from birth to 100! I'm excited to work with you and help you reach your goals!
Approach to care
I like to focus on learning what your goals are and coming up with easy to implement ways to reach those goals. I offer empathetic, compassionate, and relationship-based care with every client. Health is multi-faceted, and I believe in spending time addressing each aspect, including sleep, mental health, and resources. You come first, and I am here to help you along the way as we work together to achieve your health goals!
Your first session with Marisa
Our first session will be spent getting to know each other! Health and wellness is so deeply personal and vulnerable, and building trust and relationship is so important. We'll chat about your health history, dietary patterns, and lifestyle, as well as your health and nutrition goals. You'll be able to ask any questions you have, and together we will come up with a goal to work toward and action steps we can take along the way.
