About Marisa
I am a neurodivergent Registered Dietitian with over 20 years of experience in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. I am very passionate about helping individuals with Eating Disorders, body image dissatisfaction, and those experiencing a variety of female/afab-related health and hormonal issues. I am also a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) and work closely with individuals with Prediabetes and Diabetes.
Approach to care
I have a compassionate approach to care and enjoy exploring the deeper reasons behind dietary behaviors and illnesses. I employ techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to discover underlying beliefs, thoughts, and emotions that may be keeping us stuck in unhealthy behavioral patterns.
Your first session with Marisa
In our first session, I would like to create a relaxed environment where we can discuss your health concerns, your physical and mental health history, your current living situation, and collaborate with you on an action plan to help move you towards your values.
