About Marisa

Hi! I’m Marisa, a Registered Dietitian based in Philadelphia, PA. I’ve been an RD for nearly two decades and have extensive experience in many areas of nutrition, including dialysis and kidney health, heart health, diabetes, and weight management. Outside of work, I love cheering on Philly sports teams, staying active, and spending time with my two rescue dogs. Fitness is a big passion of mine—I enjoy everything from strength training and HIIT to yoga and Pilates. I also love traveling, especially when it involves a sunny beach. I believe deeply in the power of evidence-based nutrition and enjoy helping people feel confident in their health choices. With so much confusing nutrition information out there, my goal is to simplify the science, provide reliable guidance, and support you in creating sustainable, achievable habits.

My approach is fully patient-centered and tailored to your unique needs, preferences, and goals. Nutrition is never a ā€œone size fits allā€ process—it should feel empowering, enjoyable, and realistic. Getting to know my patients is a top priority so we can build open, comfortable communication in a laid-back, judgment-free environment. Together, we’ll find ways to incorporate the foods you love while still supporting your health.

Your first session with Marisa

Your first session is all about getting to know you. We’ll review your typical day, your lifestyle, your medical history, and your health and nutrition goals. We’ll also talk about what has worked for you in the past, any barriers you’ve faced, and your relationship with food. You can expect questions like: What does a usual day of eating look like? What are your hobbies? Do you enjoy cooking? What types of physical activity do you like? From there, we’ll collaborate to build a sustainable, personalized plan to help you reach your goals.
