About Marisa

Hello, my name is Marisa. I am a registered dietitian nutritionist with a Masters degree. I use tailored gentle nutrition counseling and education to help guide you to reach your health and nutrition goals. I pride myself in providing patient and empathetic health care. I understand the unexpected unique realities of life we may face and I consider this when helping you come up with a realistic plan to reach your goals. I also understand that building habits that stick will take time. I plan to move at a pace that works for you. If you are looking for a provider that listens, is patient, will push you when you need it, and will celebrate the small and big successes along side you then feel free to book with me. Approach to care

I provide gentle nutrition counseling focusing on building healthy habits over time. I will also be a source of accountability and motivation! I want to help you come up with a plan that you can see yourself sticking to 5 or 10 years down the road. We can find a path to reaching your health goals that will work for you. An approach of mine is understanding what foods and meals you love and making them work while still reaching your health goals. I like to focus on merging cravings and meal/snack preferences with healthy nutrient density. Let’s ditch the all or nothing mentality and diets for good to find a suitable and sustainable middle ground. I am excited to help you get there!

Your first session with Marisa

During our first session I want to get to know you and what your specific needs are. I want to get an insight into how best you learn. We will go through what a typical day of eating looks like for you including meal patterns, portions, common snack and beverage choices. When you are ready, I can then dive into providing guidance and nutrition education tailored to you. At the end of the session, we can set 1-3 small realistic goals you feel confident in being able to complete and check in on by our next session. I plan to keep track of goals we set too that way I can help to be a source of accountability.
