Approach to care
Marissa understands that making the decision to work with a dietitian can feel scary, and offers a judgment-free and supportive environment where you can feel at ease. She is a thoughtful listener and a trusted ally, partnering with you every step of the way as you move toward your personal health goals. Whether it's weight loss, improving lab values, better energy levels, or healing your relationship with food, she believes eating should be enjoyable and will help you nourish your body in a way that feels simple and sustainable.
Your first session with Marissa
The first session is all about getting to know you! Marissa will want to learn about your health goals, motivation for wanting to make change, medical history, previous experiences with weight loss, current eating patterns, food preferences, and lifestyle. Feel free to ask any questions you may have! She is here to help you navigate through confusing nutrition information and can offer suggestions for healthier eating habits. She will encourage you to set one or two action steps to work on before the next meeting. Marissa hopes with each follow up visit, you will feel more knowledgable, confident, and empowered to care for your health.
