About Mark
After my career as a commodities trader, business owner and high school hockey coach, my wife and I decided I would be a stay-at-home dad after our son was born. Nutrition and exercise has always benefited me greatly as a competitive athlete. So with the love and support of my family, I went back to school full-time at the age of 39 to pursue a nutrition career. My life experience has provided me with insight, compassion, and empathy to help my clients make the necessary lifestyle changes they need to reach their goals. I feel as though I have always walked the walk when it comes to diet and exercise, I feel fortunate that as a registered dietitian I get to talk the talk!
Approach to care
Wholistic, realistic, and sustainable. These three words are at the core of how I live, why I became a registered dietitian, and how I engage with my clients. I have a unique perspective as a registered dietitian: There are a limited number of male dietitians, I am a husband, a father, and significant life experience that allows me to truly understand client’s situations, and provide wholistic, realistic, and sustainable changes that can improve not only their physical health, but their mental and emotional health as well.
Your first session with Mark
Our first session will focus on why you're here and what you need to achieve your goals. I like to look at the totality of each client's day by focusing on current diet intake, meal timing, portions, hydration, exercise, stress management and sleep. This approach allows me to help educate and work together to build a realistic and sustainable plan that can allow you to reach your goals.
