About Mary Michelle
I’m a Bilingual Dominican American dietitian based in Florida, and I help families reconnect with culture and food without restriction, guilt, or dieting. I understand the importance of honoring where you come from. My approach centers on joy, nourishment, and empowerment. Together, we’ll build a plan that works for your real life and makes room for arroz con habichuela, family dinners, and your favorite comfort foods. Whether you’re a new parent, busy professional, or just trying to feel good again in your body, I’m here to support you with culturally affirming care and zero shame.
Approach to care
My holistic weight inclusive approach to nutrition care focuses on social determinants of health including diet, safe access to exercise, sleep, stress management, hormonal health, environmental factors, access to fresh foods and clean water, access to transportation, food literacy, cooking skill level to provide quality level of health care. My mission is to improve access to affordable medical nutrition therapy to individuals and families of all backgrounds and cultures.
Your first session with Mary Michelle
The first session will be divided in two parts: the first half of the visit is about getting to know you, your daily lifestyle, medical history and family medical history. The second half of the visit focuses on learning which foods your enjoy, food allergies/ intolerances, level of culinary/cooking skill, and food literacy: understanding the impact of your food choices on our health, environment, and economy–and understanding that these impacts are not experienced equitably.
