About Mary
I have been a Registered Dietitian for 20 years. I have worked In Long Term Care facilities the past 17 years as a corporate dietitian. I have a passion for wellness and helping people make sustainable lifelong changes. I have a young daughter who keeps me busy and young at heart.
Approach to care
My approach is a structured, patient-centered way of delivering nutrition care. It's not about giving a meal plan-it's about assessing the whole person and guiding them towards sustainable health changes. My approach is holistic and individualized. It considers medical history, lab values (if available), medications, diet, lifestyle, culture, and personal goals. It's evidence based and uses current research and clinical guidelines. I avoid fad diets and unproven methods.
Your first session with Mary
You can expect a session that feels more like a detailed conversation than a lecture. The goal is to understand you as a whole person so that I can create a tailored plan. We will begin by discussing what brings you to nutrition counseling and your personal goals of what you hope to achieve. We will discuss medical history, lifestyle, diet history, anthropometrics, social and environmental factors. I will then discuss key nutrition findings and come up with a realistic, personalized goal together. Small, achievable steps are more sustainable than a complete overhaul. We will than discuss follow-up visits which will depend on your goals and medical needs.
