About Maryam

I’m Dr. Maryam Ekramzadeh, a bilingual (Persian-English) Registered Dietitian having PhD in nutrition and a researcher in California passionate about helping people live healthier lives through balanced nutrition and wholesome food choices. As a clinical dietitian for over seven years, my work focuses on chronic disease prevention and individualized medical nutrition therapy in various fields such as weight management, diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, gastrointestinal disease, and infertility. I believe that what we eat has the power to prevent disease, boost energy, and improve overall well-being.

Approach to care

Whether you're looking to manage your weight, support heart health, or simply feel your best, small changes in your daily meals can make a big impact. Eating well isn’t about restrictions—it’s about nourishment and enjoyment. I love helping people find simple, sustainable ways to embrace nutritious foods that fit their lifestyle.

Your first session with Maryam

Your first session is all about getting to know you—your health history, lifestyle, goals, and challenges. Here’s what you can expect: 1. In-Depth Nutrition Assessment: We'll discuss your medical history, including any conditions like diabetes, kidney disease, or heart health concerns. I’ll ask about your current diet, eating habits, and any food intolerances or allergies. We’ll go over your lifestyle, including activity level, sleep patterns, stress levels, and cultural or religious food preferences. 2. Goal Setting & Personalized Plan: We’ll define realistic, achievable nutrition goals based on your health needs and personal preferences. 3. Support & Next Steps: We’ll outline what ongoing support looks like—whether it’s follow-ups, meal tracking, or adjusting your plan. You’ll have the chance to ask any questions about nutrition myths, supplements, or food choices.
