About Mason
Hey y'all, my name is Mason! I am so excited to join the Nourish team and have the opportunity to provide adequate nutrition care to more and more people. I have no doubt we will be a great fit, but please review my profile to help guide your decision in selecting the perfect dietitian for you! I can't wait to meet you! Iβll leave you with this for now...Nutrition IS the best form of self-care you can give yourself!! In my practice, we show our bodies love from the inside, out π
Approach to care
My approach to care is a strategic mix of evidence-based, patient-centered, individualized medical nutrition therapy. With me, you are safe. My approach to care is judgment-free. I view food as medicine for all: mind, body, and soul. Health begins with adequate nutrition; nutrition starts with adequate education about food and its nutrients. In my practice, all foods fit. I support body positivity and self-care. I believe in overall health, not strictly nutrition. Lastly, my approach to care is using the various readiness for change theories and meeting patients where they are at.
Your first session with Mason
During our initial session, I will conduct a comprehensive review of your nutrition and medical history. Please feel free to bring along a support companion, as the initial session can be overwhelming to some. In efforts to provide top-notch care from the start, please come prepared with 2 personal nutrition or health goals and your top 2 questions you have--these can be any question about any topic (think about any concerns or hesitations you have about getting started with me, your Dietitian). In addition, we will complete a dietary recall and discuss the above in depth. By the end of the first visit, together we will have developed an individualized nutrition/health plan perfect for you and your lifestyle!
Education
I earned my Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Winthrop University in December 2022 β> Completed my Dietetic Residency in May 2024 β> Passed my national board exam or CDR exam to become a Registered and South Carolina Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist the following August. I have been practicing in clinical nutrition as an inpatient and outpatient dietitian at a hospital. I have experience in ICU, trauma nutrition, and disease-specific nutrition care.
Hobbies
Spending time with my precious baby girl (who is now a big girl toddler, I can't believe it!), dancing...everywhere!, cooking and creating new recipes for my cookbook (one day!!), snuggling with my two cats, singing in the car, and doing morning yoga. I am grateful for the time spent with my incredibly supportive friends and family!
