He aims to foster a safe, judgement-free, and engaging learning environment to aid knowledge discovery, cultivation, and mastery in order to support motivation and excitement towards lifestyle and behavior modifications. Matthew blends scientifically-sound medical management with personalized health coaching to cultivate meaningful professional relationships and accountability during nutritional interventions. He concentrates nutritional interventions around the three pillars of wellness (physical, mental, and social) to ensure whole-person wellness is being supported through dietary and lifestyle interventions.
Your first session with Matthew
During your first session with Matthew, expect to spend 55-60 minutes reviewing pertinent medical information to foster understanding of your unique medical picture, desired health outcomes, and potential interventional avenues. Matthew will inquire on past medical history, weight history, physical activity preferences, nutritional knowledge, feeding habits, pertinent lab values, preferred coaching styles, and time commitments. Health education and instruction may be provided during your first session, if time allows, to support individual learning and understanding of current health recommendations. Following your first session with Matthew, you may be provided 1-3 individualized nutritional goals, developed through collaboration of you and the RD, and scheduled for follow-up to monitor and adapt goals to support you in your efforts to achieving better health.
