About Mattie
Originally from South Carolina, I spent 15 years living in the cozy state of Vermont before moving out west to the mountains of Colorado. As a dietitian, I love collaborating with my patients to identify their unique nutrition and health goals; creating an empowering connection with food that supports their definition of wellbeing. I have experience working as an outpatient dietitian for eating disorders, general wellness, dietary restrictions, and improving relationships with food and movement. Before working at Nourish, I provided care at an eating disorder PHP where I treated all EDs and gained substantial experience and training for binge eating disorder and ARFID.
Approach to care
With an approach rooted in HAES and Intuitive Eating, I am dedicated to helping patients reconnect with food based on their unique goals. You are the expert on you, so we will collaborate on a plan that aligns with your values and unique circumstances. A guiding principle we will use is Tools Not Rules; identifying concrete supportive strategies that are flexible and forgiving rather than rigid. Whether you are seeking support in eating disorder recovery, general health, meal planning, navigating dietary restrictions, or an improved relationship with food or movement, we will create a non-judgemental treatment plan and you will leave each session with individualized tools and action steps.
Your first session with Mattie
During our first session, we will get to know one another and begin to create a coworking space. To start, I’ll ask you to share your goals, health concerns, and we’ll explore the history of your relationship with food. Talking about food, health, and body image is personal and can feel vulnerable, so I’ll aim to create an open space where you feel understood and respected. You may come in with clear goals that we can begin to work towards, or you may come without an exact idea of what you are looking for and we can work together to identify your priorities. Following our first session, I will also connect with any care team members you feel are important to the care coordination process.
