About Maureen
I have been working in the field of nutrition for more than 40 years, which is difficult for me to believe since I can recall the day I passed my national exam as if it were yesterday! While I have worked in numerous settings (hospital, employee wellness promotion, community nutrition, and state health department), I particularly enjoy working one on one with people who are trying to improve their quality of life through their food and nutrition habits. On a personal note, I love food, I love to cook, and I have lots of experience in making meals for family and friends that are both nutritious and seriously delicious. I hope to share my love of food and nutrition with you!
Approach to care
My favorite part of nutrition counseling is developing relationships with my clients - getting to know them on a deeper level to understand their health goals, their challenges, their food likes and dislikes, what they’ve tried in the past, what has worked for them, and what their motivation is to live a healthier life! In every situation (including for my own nutrition goals!) I strive for progress, not perfection, recognizing that even small steps can lead to big rewards!
Your first session with Maureen
In our first session, I want to hear from you about your health and nutrition history, explore your relationship with food and how it impacts your physical and mental health, and to understand your nutrition related challenges and goals. I also want to know what brings you joy in your life so that we can tailor your nutrition goals to allow you to do more of the things that make you feel alive. I would be honored to meet with you and work with you to bring your nutrition and health goals to reality.
