About Maxine

Hi, I’m a registered dietitian with four decades of experience, including tenure at a top-rated hospital. I still love what I do—especially seeing my clients succeed. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping people from all walks of life take charge of their health through food and lifestyle. I specialize in weight management and the conditions that often come with it, like high blood pressure, elevated blood sugar, and high cholesterol. I also have a special interest in healthy aging and supporting brain health. Whether you’re working to prevent chronic illness, manage a diagnosis, or simply feel more confident in your body, I’m here to help you find a path that’s realistic, sustainable, and empowering. My approach is rooted in science but always grounded in the real world—your world.

Approach to care

Nutrition isn’t one-size-fits-all. I like to think of changing your eating habits like starting a garden or remodeling a home—it takes vision, planning, and a step-by-step approach. I’ll take time to understand what matters most to you, explore the resources you already have, and help you build a plan that’s realistic and fits into your life. We’ll break the process into manageable pieces, identifying the habits worth keeping and the ones we can work on together. Along the way, we’ll look at the tools you already use, add to your toolbox, and practice putting those tools into action. Small, consistent steps lead to lasting change. Whether you’re managing weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, or other concerns, I’ll offer science-based guidance in a flexible, compassionate way. My goal is to help you create changes that stick—not just for now, but for the long run.

Your first session with Maxine

The primary purpose of our first session is information-gathering. I’ll take a comprehensive look at your health, starting with a detailed review of your medical history, lab work, eating habits, physical activity, and other lifestyle factors. This helps me understand the full picture so I can tailor my recommendations to your specific needs and goals. We’ll also talk about what’s working well for you, what you’d like to improve, and what feels realistic right now. By the end of the session, we’ll identify a few manageable steps to help you get started. Most importantly, you’ll leave with a plan that feels supportive, personalized, and grounded in your real life.
