About Megan
Megan is Registered Dietitian Nutritionist specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image repair. Megan has clinical experience in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient settings, allowing her to understand the different levels of support people need throughout their recovery journey. She also holds a 200 hour yoga teacher certification, incorporating mindfulness and embodiment to help repair body image and increase emotional awareness.
Approach to care
Like many dietitians, I began my nutrition career after repairing my own body image and relationship with food. I don't believe in dieting or labeling food "good vs. bad." We are social beings who thrive in connection with others. Food has been at the center of those connections for centuries, and I believe every person deserves to have a relationship with food that makes life better, not more difficult. For some, that means finding a way back to a joyful relationship with food, while for others that may simply be finding ways that food is less stressful and doesnât feel like a chore. I work collaboratively with my clients to build sustainable change based on your goals and what matters to you. My approach is grounded in compassion, and I strive to create a judgment-free space where each clientâs experience is heard and valued.
Your first session with Megan
The focus of the first 1-2 sessions will truly be to get to know one another. I will lead us through conversations about your medical history, your relationship with food and your body image, and history of any official eating disorder diagnoses. We will then discuss your goals and expectations, as well as how you work best with providers.
