About Megan
Hello! My name is Megan and I am a Registered Dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor based in Central Pennsylvania. I have a Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Sciences from Penn State University and completed my Dietetic Internship at Cedar Crest College. I have been a Registered Dietitian for 7 years and have worked in different areas of nutritional care, with outpatient counseling being my favorite. I have experience working with patients regarding diabetes management, intuitive eating, mindful eating, heart health, GI symptoms, disordered eating, and general wellness. The most rewarding part of my career has been helping my clients achieve their health-related goals.
Approach to care
I am a non-diet dietitian with a weight-inclusive care approach. I focus on you as a whole person, not a condition that needs treated. I promote overall healthy behaviors and encourage my clients to measure progress by more than the number on the scale. I do not focus on macros or calories and will not just give you a meal plan to follow. Instead, I will work with you to develop an eating pattern that works for you and your lifestyle while teaching you how to nourish your body and encourage self-efficacy. I will provide you with knowledge and support and will help you develop a better relationship with food, movement, and body image. I am a firm believer that you are the expert in your body.
Your first session with Megan
I like to spend the first session getting to know you. We will review your medical history, any recent lab work, current lifestyle, typical eating patterns, and goals you may have. If you are ready to make a change, we will collaborate on creating an achievable goal for our next session to propel you forward in your journey to improved health.
