About Megrette
I'm a registered dietitian and diabetes care and education specialist, and I am the author of a number of mindful eating books. I am a great fit if you are looking for compassionate and sustainable approachs to behavioral change. I work with everyone including people at risk of diabetes, with prediabetes, gestational diabetes, have ADHD or are looking to improve their nutrition, or change their diet to support their sobriety. I provide a welcoming space for folks in the LGBTQIA community. My personal pronouns are She/Her. If you have Prediabetes or type 2 diabetes, check out my free weight-inclusive newsletter called No Weight Loss Required for people with type 2 diabetes.
Approach to care
I like using humor to make our sessions more enjoyable. I know that health is not a size or a number. As a weight-inclusive dietitian and diabetes educator, I am very curious about what has worked in the past and what direction you would like to move toward in the future. Together we will have a back-and-forth conversation instead of a session when you are told to eat X or do Y. Working with me is about getting the support you need to discover, explore, and play with different aspects of your diet to find balanced and sustainable solutions. Clients say that my mindfulness based focus helped them find a calm, compassionate way to engage in sustainable self-care.
Your first session with Megrette
I want to learn about what you are doing that is working and where you think there are opportunities for change. As part of the initial assessment, I do a lot of listening. Together we will fill in the missing pieces and create a longterm goal. Then the fun begins as we brainstorm different steps that are within reach to move you closer to your larger goal. My hope is that by working together, we can find a way to make nutrition and health easier for you.
