About Melina
I am a registered dietitian with 20 years of experience working with patients of all ages, from infants to adults. I enjoy partnering with individuals to identify their health goals, develop manageable and affordable nutrition strategies, and apply evidence-based practices to support lasting, realistic change. I have had the opportunity to participate in lifestyle research focused on the Mediterranean diet and understand the impact of food on our bodies and psyche. As am a mom of 2, I have both personal and professional experience with breastfeeding, picky eating, and pediatric nutrition. I have found a passion for learning about the microbiome and gut health, working with those who have neurologic disabilities, and those who rely on alternative forms of nutrition (g-tube/tube feeding and parenteral/TPN).
Approach to care
I take a compassionate, realistic approach to meeting clients where they are, without judgment, and recognizing the practical challenges of daily life. I prioritize listening —understanding an individual’s values, culture, resources, and lived experiences—before offering guidance. Rather than promoting perfection, my approach focuses on small, achievable changes, flexible strategies, and evidence-based recommendations that fit within a person’s budget, schedule, and preferences. My goal is to empower individuals with supportive, sustainable tools that build education, confidence and foster long-term health.
Your first session with Melina
The first session will be spent getting to know you, your concerns, and your objectives. Sometimes identifying goals can be the hardest part! We will talk through your health history and together we will establish and game plan for moving forward in our future sessions.
