About Melissa
I am a dietitian from New Jersey who loves the beach, anything fitness and being outdoors!! I have a bucket list goal of traveling to all 50 states, and I am making my way slowly! I also love landscape/wildlife photography and sell some of my pictures in local stores. Whenever I travel or have time to explore I enjoy taking my camera with me to see what I can capture! In my free time I enjoy being with friends and hanging out, but week to week if I am not listening to music I am likely listening to a podcast or looking at research to further dive into the nutrition topics I love.
Approach to care
I provide my patients with a "whole lifestyle" approach, because everything in life is a domino effect, and we want that to be in a positive direction!! There is no need to squeeze yourself into a cookie cutter diet, but instead strategize together to make the approach to overall wellness be something that works into your lifestyle in a low stress way! In regards to Medical Nutrition Therapy, I support management or prevention of various chronic diseases with an 80/20 approach. I believe that fun foods do have a place in everyone's diet in a way that can still support goals! I am here to help you balance that approach in a way that you can enjoy life AND feel your best inside and out.
Your first session with Melissa
I really want to get to know each other so I can meet you where you are at, and help you get to where you want to be in a way that works for you! I want to hear about it all- past medical history, medications or supplements, sleep, stress, work, nutrition, fitness, mindset, body image, food relationship, water intake, and even any events or holidays coming up!! This allows me to really understand your day to day and go from there. We will go through how the program works, what you need to be successful, and strategize goals specific to the time between our next appointment.
