About Melissa
Hello friend! I'm so excited to join you on your journey! I am a Registered Dietitian with over 13 years of experience as a clinical dietitian and leader and more than 20 years of experience in fitness and wellness (both professional and personal). I've worked with patients across a wide range of settings - inpatient and outpatient, adult and pediatrics, complex medical needs to everyday nutrition and exercise goals. I bring both evidence-based clinical practice and real-world practicality into each session. With additional experience in leadership, mentoring, and personal development, I'm especially skilled at helping people cut through the noise, focus on what really matters, and build sustainable habits powered by true purpose. I also believe that intentional change - whether clinical or lifestyle - should fit your life. It should feel empowering and realistic, not restrictive or overwhelming.
Approach to care
I'm here to build a true connection with you and be a guide and support for you during your journey. I aim to bring care, compassion, and understanding to all my patient interactions. My approach to working with you will be collaborative, individualized, and judgement-free. There are no one-size-fits-all solutions or quick fixes. Together, we will clarify your goals, understand your health history, and develop a plan that will fit your day-to-day realities so it feels doable and sustainable. I will meet you where you are, whether you're just getting started or fine-tuning your nutrition, and provide guidance that supports your physical health and overall well-being. Overall, my goal is for you to feel heard, seen, supported, confident, and excited about going on this journey together!
Your first session with Melissa
In our first session together, we'll spend time getting to know each other, clarifying health history and current concerns, and discussing what you hope to achieve with my support. By the end of the session, I hope to have established a strong foundation with you - building trust, clearly understanding where you are right now and why your initial priorities and goals are important to you. We'll discuss what to expect moving forward and set one or two easy goals for the first week (or stronger goals if you are ready!). I am truly so excited to start working with you and I can't wait to meet you!

Also, visiting my family in Chicago as much as possible - preferably in the summer :)
