About Melissa
Hello, I'm Melissa, a Registered Dietitian (RDN) with over 6 years of experience and a MS in Nutritional Science from California State University, Los Angeles. I have worked in clinical and community health, where I have learned to translate evidenced-based science into practical plans. Outside of work, I love tending to my plants, testing new recipes, and practicing joyful movement. I'm dedicated to empowering you to live your healthiest life while honoring your culture and what matters most to you.
Approach to care
I approach care with empathy and warmth, weight neutrality, all grounded in science. My practice is focused on sustainable habits rather than quick fixes. I work with you in a collaborative, non-judgmental way, to develop clear and actionable steps. I believe nutrition is impacted by sleep, stress, and relationships with food. I aim to educate you to make informed choices long after our sessions. I'm committed to supporting lasting change that respects your body and your values.
Your first session with Melissa
In our first appointment, I would like to get to know you and discuss your goals. We'll review your medical history, lab work or biometrics, establish short-term goals, and discuss your relationship with food. In our collaborative conversation, we'll explore what matters most to you, what has worked before, and what feels doable now. By the end of our session, you'll have clear next steps and a plan that fits your life.
