About Melissa
Hi, I'm Melissa. I understand the complexities of eating disorders and the confusion of re- learning how to eat like a "normal person" again. With a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition, a master's in nutrition education (MEd), and 2 years as a Registered Dietitian, I've worked across hospitals, residential acute care and partial hospitalization programs, and in private practice. I enjoy helping people untangle complicated relationships with food, especially those navigating ARFID, OSFED, BED, anorexia, or bulimia. Outside of work you might find me figure skating, running, crafting, trying new foods, or enjoying a concert/ musical.
Approach to care
Rooted in current evidence and a weight-neutral Health At Every Size framework, I focus on sustainable skills rather than quick fixes. We'll translate research into clear, practical steps that fit your life, with direct action and gentle accountability. My style is warm and nonjudgmental, and I center the whole person, not just food. Education is a priority, so you'll gain understanding and tools to make informed choices while we work together to rebuild a healthier, more peaceful relationship with eating.
Your first session with Melissa
Expect a calm, collaborative visit where your story guides the conversation. We'll review medical history and take a deep dive into your relationship with food, exploring patterns, triggers, and strengths. Together we'll set short-term, manageable goals that feel achievable, and create clear next steps you can try between visits. There's no pressure to have it all figured out. We'll meet you where you are, keep things judgment-free, and focus on relearning how to fuel your body and build sustainable habits.
