About Melissa
Hi, Iām Melissa Romano, a Registered Dietitian with 20 years of experience. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Food Science from New Mexico State University and completed my dietetic internship at the University of Alaska Anchorage. My career spans clinical and hospital settings, private practice, corporate wellness, and community health, and I now bring that broad experience to my telehealth practice. I use my RDN and LD credentials with pride while guiding clients toward practical, evidence-based nutrition plans. When Iām not working, I love hiking, walking, reading, and traveling, and I bring that sense of balance into my work with you.
Approach to care
My care philosophy centers on collaboration, safety, and lasting change. I ground every plan in current evidence and practical steps, ensuring you have tools that fit your life. I believe nutrition is personal, not punitive, and I meet you where you are with empathy and warmth. Together we set clear actions and accountable milestones, so progress feels both achievable and meaningful. I practice with a Health At Every Size lens, focusing on sustainable habits and joyful living rather than dieting drama. Health is holistic, so we consider sleep, stress, and routine alongside meals, and I aim to educate you so you feel confident making choices on your own.
Your first session with Melissa
Our first appointment is all about you. We'll review medical history, recent lab results or biometrics, and explore your relationship with food, your goals, and your daily life. This is a judgment-free, low-pressure conversation, and we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. You don't need to arrive with answers or a perfect plan; we'll co-create a realistic path forward and set short-term goals to start. By the end, you'll have a clear sense of what weāll tackle next and how we'll support you on your wellness journey.
