About Melody

Hi I’m Melody and I am both an RDN as well as a Certified Personal Trainer. I am originally from Los Angeles but reside in San Diego. My journey of becoming an RDN began at 18 when I volunteered for a community event. It was here that I witnessed a 9-year-old boy unable to complete a relay due to his overweight condition. I not only felt tremendous empathy, but I was quickly reminded about the national obesity epidemic. I knew in this moment that I wanted to make an impact. Shortly after, I found my way to a nutrition degree and became a personal trainer 6 years later. My dietetics career first led me to public health, however, I shifted my passion to nutrition counseling in 2015.

Approach to care

I help my clients implement a highly personalized nutrition plan that encompasses a truly holistic approach to health, re-establishes a positive connection with food, promotes body image positivity, and stresses the art of balance. I focus on the moderation rather than the elimination of food. I believe in an evidence-based and transformative approach to health that focuses on long-term, sustainable success.

Your first session with Melody

Think of me as your biggest cheerleader right off the bat. There is no one size fits all approach to nutrition, which is why it is important to gather as much information about you as possible in our first session together. By doing so I can tailor my recommendations towards your personal needs so that you can successfully achieve your goals. I know firsthand that being vulnerable is difficult, but I aim to bring an uplifting spirit to all of our sessions in order to ease your nerves while also establish credibility.
